The Campus Special

Account Executive  Summer 2010

Working at the Campus Special, the nation's largest provider of coupon books for college students, I gained valuable first hand sales experience. Working under Joe Jacobs, a cofounder of the company, I Initiated and solidified client relationships and sold advertising to local businesses. 

At the end of the summer I finished 10th out of 300 Account Executives nationwide. I raised Burlington, VT to be the number one most improved mature market out of 95 markets. I generated $46,000 in sales revenues in ten weeks and worked in an established market; increased profits 65% over the previous year.

I became experienced in all aspects of consultative selling, from existing account   management, lead generation and cold calling to needs analysis, closing and post-sales service. I experienced building and maintaining rapport with one on one with small business owners to medium sized and large corporations.

I was also one of six interns asked to move to another market to help sales. I travelled to the University of Massachusetts to work with businesses there and increase sales.
